With my all or nothing thinking
I change my mind each
Time I'm blinking
Standing at the edge of a cliff
Always asking myself "what if?"
Instead of accepting what is
I could be roaming around
On top of the mountain
And drinking from life's fountain
Life is in the gray areas
All I see is black and white
But it is not all or nothing
If you keep looking for perfection
You're gonna keep crashing
With my all or nothing thinking
There is no floating around
Just sinking
Not everything will go to plan
But there's no way that I can
Stop myself from spiralling
When the things I thought
Would work out in fact did not
I can't deal with what I got
I think I have a fear of being mediocre
Being average feels repulsive
I don't feel normal
I feel strange
So everything I do must either compensate
For that or represent that
Cause I don't know how to change
Life is in the gray areas
